Previously these fees were collected by Canada Post and were accompanied by a COD charge to collect them. This surcharge covers all taxes, duties, customs and processing fees. Claims can take up to 30 days for domestic shipments and 45 days for international shipments to be fully investigated by the shipping carrier. Guess we'll see what happens but it probably won't affect my spending habits too much outside of a few less orders vs. Originally I would throw on an extra manga/LN or cheap extra item to get to the limit and now it's a negligible cost if I want just that item sooner vs. Hope it helps them stay afloat for now but this also shows how tough it is for companies to be competing with Amazon as now if I want Re:Zero S1 it's cheaper on RightStuf but the shipping charge means it's equal w/ Amazon even w/ their sales tax. Now that it's at $75, I'd be more likely waiting until December for a bulk purchase or a sale anyway. Just ordered the Konosuba blu-ray and a few LN's like a week ago and it was BARELY over the $50 limit. Now I'm more likely to wait until their July/December sales instead.
The hard part for me with this is that I'm more likely to buy a few more additional items to get to the $50 cause usually one blu-ray when it comes out can get you pretty close to that amount.
